Parts & Accessories

Sterizon wiZit touchscreen device comes with rechargeable battery and an A/C Adapter for charging the unit. The unit must be charged before it can be run on battery. Use the A/C Adapter to charge the unit.

Device Interface

The device control and status bar appears and always stays on the top of the screen (irrespective of device orientation) when powered on, and has some touch icons to control navigation and some status icons to indicate the health and status of the device.

Button/Key/Icon	Effect/Description
	Power Button - Power up/down the unit. The power button is usually located on the top left corner of the handheld when holding in landscape mode.
	Home - Navigates to home screen.
	Back/Escape Key - Returns to previous screen or view. This physical key is located on the bottom center (in portrait/vertical orientation) or on right center (in landscape/horizontal orientation) of the device front depending on orientation of the handheld.
	Back/Escape Icon - Similar in function to the Back Key.
	Menu Icon - Open the Menu Options
	Volume Control Icon - Volume control icons.
	Screen Capture Icon - Captures current screen into an image (requires SD CARD)
	Wi-Fi Status - Shown when actively connected to a Wi-Fi network.
	Battery Status - Shows the current battery level.
	SD CARD Status - Shown when SD Card is inserted.
	USB Status - Shown when connected to USB.
	Current Time - Shows current system time.
	Notification Alert - Shown when there is an active notification.

Soft Keyboard

Sterizon wiZit touchscreen device comes with a soft touch keyboard for data entry. The soft keyboard will automatically popup when you tap on a data entry field. The keys on the keyboard may vary/change depending on the data entry field. Press the back key to hide the soft keyboard at any time.

Setup, Installation & Testing Your Sterizon wiZit

Sterizon wiZit devices arrive pre-installed with latest software and pre-configured for your business location. The only setup that is required is configuring your Wi-Fi/Wireless Network before it can be used. Once configured, the device will automatically connect to the same network unless you manually change it. Please read through basic operations and keyboard usage instructions. Please follow the steps below to complete the setup of your Sterizon wiZit device:

1. Connect handheld device to the AC adaptor (for charging the battery) and turn on the power.
2. The device starts booting with boot messages and launches the Graphical Interface.
3. After booting, if you see your Home Screen, no further setup is required except setting up Wireless Network.
4. After booting, if you see "Subscription Error" screen, contact support.
5. After booting, if you see "Software Update Available" panel, press OK to download the updates. The updates will be installed the next time you reboot or powerdown the device.
6. Follow the instructions for Setting Up Wireless Network.

Basic Operations

Power ON Unit

Press the Power Button to power up the device. Once the unit boots up, you'll be automatically directed to the landing screen of the Sterizon wiZit. If you've already setup Wi-Fi Network, the unit will automatically connect to the network to download any updates, if available.

Power OFF Unit

To power down the unit, press and hold the Power Button to pop open the power options. Tap on the "Power Off" and click on "OK"/"Yes" to power down the unit.

Home Screen

Under normal circumstances, Home Screen is the default landing screen after the device boots up. Your Home Screen may look similar (or vary) to the one shown below, but with your banner, title customizations and product subscriptions. If your product subscription has expired or account has been terminated, you'll see "Subscription Error" screen instead.

Menu Mode

Press the Menu Icon/Key at any time to toggle between Menu Mode and Normal Mode. In Menu Mode, you can access the Sterizon wiZit menu to perform basic and advanced admin operations like Setup Wireless Network, Check for Software Updates, View Network/Business Information etc. Menu Mode is strictly for administration purposes to be used by the Business Owner. Users of the system typically stay in the Normal Mode to perform data entry.

Admin/Owner Mode

To access Advanced Settings under Settings, you'll be prompted to provide a device password. In the popup Login Panel, key in your admin password, tap "Login". If your login is successful, you should see advanced options. If your password is not accepted, you'll see a "Login Failed" message.

In Admin Mode, you can access the advanced menu options like SD Card Download etc. Once you are done using advanced options, you can select Logout option to return back to Normal Mode.

NOTE: You'll be provided with the device admin password for the devices during your account setup. If you don't remember the password, you can contact support. Your device admin password is completely different from your login credentials to the Sterizon Web Portal.

Setting Up Wireless Network

If the network was not setup or network connection could not be established during powerup, you'll be redirected to the "Network Unavailable" screen instead of Home Screen and a "Setup Wireless Network" dialog will popup to walk you through the Wi-Fi network setup process.









   

Screen Saver Mode

When the unit is left unused for 30 secs (the screen timeout may very based on your setup) at anytime after it is powered on, it will automatically go into Screen Saver Mode (display will turn off) to save battery. Press Back/Escape Key to wakeup and unlock the unit.

Exploring Menu Options

"Information" Menu

In the Menu Mode, tap "Information" icon to view the Sterizon wiZit Device identifiers like Serial Number, Business Owner information, Network Status etc. When contacting support of any device or connectivity or subscription issues, you must first specify the "Serial Number" of the device.

"Settings" Menu

"Settings" Menu Option is available only on the Landing Screen and is used for all device, system settings including Wi-Fi Network Setup, Software Upgrades, Downloading Data etc.

   Settings > Upgrade Software

In the Settings Menu Mode, tap "Software Upgrade" at any time to check for any available software updates manually. Software updates are automatically pushed to the devices during boot process, and you'll be automatically prompted with a "Software Update Available" panel to download any new updates. The software updates are downloaded locally to the device and follow the on screen instructions (shown below) to complete the installation process.

   Settings > Upload Data

In the Settings Screen, tap "Upload Data" at any time to force synchronization of collected data with the server for online access. Please note, in the normal operation mode with Steirzon wiZit STANDARD subscription, the data synchronization happens automatically and doesn't require manual intervention.

   Settings > Download Form Updates

In the Settings Screen, tap "Download Form Updates" at any time to download and install latest subscription updates and form updates.

   Settings > Wi-Fi Network

In the Admin Menu Mode, pull down "Setup" menu and select "Wireless Network" to initiate the Wi-Fi Wireless Network Setup wizard. See Setting Up Wireless Network section for more details.

   Settings > Advanced Settings > System Settings

In the Advanced Settings Screen, tap "System Settings" to setup Locale, Time, Display, Sound, etc on the device.

Safety Warnings

Sterizon wiZit includes a rechargeable battery. Please dispose of properly when replacing (if available).
