Sterizon wiZit is a small, powerful, wireless handheld Wi-Fi device for variety of data collection applications. Sterizon wiZit device is used for building customer lists (eClubs), loyalty clubs and reward points tracking, collecting customer feedback, survey and reviews, paperless coupon validation and redemption, referral program tracking etc. For more information, please visit http://www.sterizon.com.

Parts & Accessories
Sterizon wiZit device comes with rechargeable lithium-ion battery and an A/C Adapter for charging the unit. The unit must be charged before it can be run on battery. Use the A/C Adapter to charge the unit. The unit must be powered on while connected to the A/C Adapter to charge.

Setup, Installation & Testing Your Sterizon wiZit
Sterizon wiZit devices arrive pre-installed with latest software and pre-configured for your business location. The only setup that is required is configuring your Wi-Fi/Wireless Network before it can be used. Once configured, the device will automatically connect to the same network unless you manually change it. Please read through basic operations and keyboard usage instructions. Please follow the steps below to complete the setup of your Sterizon wiZit device:
- Connect Sterizon wiZit to the AC adaptor (for charging the battery) and turn on the power.
- The device starts booting with boot messages and launches the Graphical Interface.
- After booting, if you see your Home Screen, no further setup is required.
- After booting, if you see "Subscription Error" screen, contact support.
- After booting, if you see "Software Update Available" panel, press OK to download the updates. The updates will be installed the next time you reboot or powerdown the device.
- If you see a "Network Unavailable" message, you'll have to setup Wireless Network.
- Follow the instructions for Setting Up Wireless Network.
- Reboot the device after selecting the wireless network and supplying the required WPA/WEP credentials.
To test if your devices are working properly end to end, the following steps are recommended:
- From the Home Screen, select either eClub Signup or Satisfaction Survey (depending on what products you have subscribed), and go through the forms, input your information and hit submit to finish the process.
- Using your computer, login to the Sterizon Web Portal at https://www.sterizon.com/wiportal to access your account. Verify that the information you entered on the device made it into your account under proper section.
Basic Operations
Power ON Unit
Press the Power Button to power up the device. Once the unit boots up, you'll be redirected the landing screen of the Sterizon wiZit. If you've already setup Wi-Fi Network, the unit will automatically connect to the network. If the network was not setup or network connection could not be established during boot, you'll be redirected to the "Network Unavailable" screen and a "Setup Wireless Network" dialog will popup to walk you through the Wi-Fi network setup process.
Power OFF Unit
To power down the unit, go into Menu Mode by pressing Escape Key. Select wiZit! > Poweroff from the Menu. You'll be prompted with a Poweroff confirmation panel. Select Yes option and press Enter to shutdown the unit.
NOTE: The Power Button cannot be used to powerdown the unit to avoid accidental powerdown of the unit while in use.
Reboot Unit
To reboot the unit, go into Menu Mode by pressing Escape Key. Select wiZit! > Reboot from the Menu. You'll be prompted with a confirmation panel. Select Yes option and press Enter to reboot the unit.
Home Screen
Under normal circumstances, Home Screen is the default landing page after the device boots up. Your Home Screen may look similar to the one shown below, but with your banner, title customizations and product subscriptions. If your wireless network is not setup or the device fails to connect to your network, you'll see "Network Unavailable" error screen instead. If your product subscription has expired or account has been terminated, you'll see "Subscription Error" screen instead.

Sterizon wiZit screens have 3 main components:
- Title Bar - Appears on the top of each screen (red background) in Normal Mode, and contains the Business Name on the left and Screen Title on the right. The Title Bar Toggles to Menu Bar in Menu Mode.
- Status Bar - Appears on the bottom of each screen (black background) in all modes and shows context sensitive help or status information.
- View Area - Appears between Title and Status Bar and contains the actual screen content such as data entry forms, graphics, messages etc. A scroll bar will appear if the content cannot fit into the viewable area.
Menu Mode & Normal Mode
Press the Escape Button at any time to toggle between Menu Mode and Normal Mode. In Menu Mode, you can access the Sterizon wiZit menu to perform basic and advanced admin operations like Setup Wireless Network, Poweroff Unit, Check for Software Updates, View Network/Business Information etc. Menu Mode is strictly for administration purposes to be used by the Business Owner. Users of the system typically stay in the Normal Mode to perform data entry.

Admin Mode
To change any network or system settings of the unit, you must first login locally to the unit to be able to access advanced menu options. To login to admin mode, press Menu Escape Button, and select wiZit! > Login. In the popup Login Panel, key in your admin password, select "OK" and press Enter Key. If your login is successful, you should see "Login Successful" panel. If your password is not accepted, you'll see a "Login Failed" panel. Press "OK" to retry.
In Admin Mode, you can access the advanced menu options like Setup using which you can setup Wireless Network etc. Once you are done using advanced options, you can select wiZit! > Logout from the menu to return back to Normal Mode.
NOTE: You'll be provided with the device admin password for the devices during your account setup. If you don't remember the password, you can contact support. Your device admin password is completely different from your login credentials to the Sterizon Web Portal.
Setting Up Wireless Network
If the network was not setup or network connection could not be established during powerup, you'll be redirected to the "Network Unavailable" screen instead of Home Screen and a "Setup Wireless Network" dialog will popup to walk you through the Wi-Fi network setup process.



To setup or change a wireless network at any time, you must first Login (with the device password provided to you by Sterizon) into the device to Admin Mode. Up on successful login, from the menu, select Setup > Setup Wireless. "Setup Wireless Network" dialog will popup to walk you through the Wi-Fi network setup process.




Select "Next Step" and press Enter to scan for the available wireless networks in range. Navigate to your wireless network from the available networks list by pressing up/down arrow and press space bar to select it and press enter on "Next Step" to continue. Depending on the network security settings, you'll be prompted with SSID (pre-filled with the network SSID you selected from previous step) and optionally Password (for WEP and WPA networks). Enter your password and select "Finish Setup" and press Enter. You'll be asked to reboot to finish the setup process. If the setup was successful, after reboot, you'll be automatically directed to the Home Screen. If you see "Network Unavailable" screen, your setup did not succeed. Repeat the above steps to properly setup the wireless network.
Screen Saver Mode
When the unit is left unused for 4 minutes at anytime after it is powered on, it will automatically go into Screen Saver Mode to save battery. In this mode, you'll see a hazy white screen (with stripes). To bring the unit back to Normal Mode, press Menu Escape Button, and select wiZit! > Home. If you press any other key, you may see just the title bar with a blank/black view area or half rendered view area. To restore to Normal Mode, press Menu Escape Button, and select wiZit! > Home.
System Freeze
Under very rare situations, the unit may completely freeze, and stops responding to keyboard events. To restart the unit, you would need to do a Hard Reset. To do this first locate the small hole on the left side of the unit, next to the head phone port. Get a paper clip (or a push pin) and open up one end, gently push the end of the paper clip into the hole and then turn your unit back on by pressing the Power Button like normal. Your wiZit should proceed to function like normal.
Exploring Menu Options
"wiZit!" Menu
"wiZit!" Menu Option is used for Admin Login, Logout, Poweroff and Reboot. To access "wiZit!" menu, press Menu Escape Button, and select wiZit!.

wiZit! > Home
In the Menu Mode, pull down "wiZit!" menu and select "Home" at any time to go to the Home Screen.
wiZit! > Return
In the Menu Mode, pull down "wiZit!" menu and select "Return" at any time to return back to Normal Mode.
wiZit! > Login
In the Menu Mode, pull down "wiZit!" menu and select "Login" at any time to login to the Admin Mode for configuring the device. Once logged in, this menu item will disappear and "Logout" menu item will appear in the "wiZit!" menu.
wiZit! > Logout
In the Menu Mode, pull down "wiZit!" menu and select "Logout" while in Admin Mode to logout to Normal Mode. Once logged out, this menu item will disappear and "Login" menu item will appear in the "wiZit!" menu.
wiZit! > Reboot
In the Menu Mode, pull down "wiZit!" menu and select "Reboot" to initiate device reboot.
wiZit! > Poweroff
In the Menu Mode, pull down "wiZit!" menu and select "Poweroff" to initiate device shutdown sequence.
"View" Menu
"View" Menu Option is used for viewing the Business, System and Network Information. The options are provided for informational purpose only and are typically helpful in troubleshooting. To access "View" menu, press Menu Escape Button, and select View.

View > Business Information
In the Menu Mode, pull down "View" menu and select "Business Information" to view the Business Name and Physical Address to which the Sterizon wiZit Device has been assigned to. Per Terms Of Use, the device must be physically present at this address at all times.

View > System Information
In the Menu Mode, pull down "View" menu and select "System Information" to view the Sterizon wiZit Device identifiers like Serial Number, MAC Address. When contacting support of any device or connectivity or subscription issues, you must first specify the "Serial Number" of the device. If the device cannot be powered on, then you can lookup the above information by removing the battery cover and viewing under the battery for system information label.

View > Network Status
In the Menu Mode, pull down "View" menu and select "Network Status" to view the current status of your Wi-Fi Network Connection. If the state shows "SCANNING" or "4-WAY HANDSHAKE", it means the device is unable to connect to the network and is still searching or negotiating a connection. A successful network connection would show a state of "COMPLETED", the SSID of the network, and will show a valid "IP" Address.

View > Available Networks
In the Menu Mode, pull down "View" menu and select "Available Networks" to view the available wireless networks in the range. SSID, Signal Strength and Key Management are shown for all the networks found in range.

View > Demo Application
In the Admin Mode, pull down "View" menu and select "Demo Application" to view a local demo application. This is provided for demostration purposes only and doesn't store any data locally or remotely and doesn't require network connectivity for it to work.
"Setup" Menu
"Setup" Menu Option is available only in Admin Mode and is used for Setting up Wireless Network and Checking for Updates.

Setup > Check for Updates
In the Admin Menu Mode, pull down "Setup" menu and select "Check for Updates" at any time to check for any available software updates manually. Software updates are automatically pushed to the devices during boot process, and you'll be automatically prompted with a "Software Update Available" panel to download any new updates. The software updates are downloaded locally to the device and are automatically installed during poweroff or reboot.
Setup > Wireless Network
In the Admin Menu Mode, pull down "Setup" menu and select "Wireless Network" to initiate the Wi-Fi Wireless Network Setup wizard. See Setting Up Wireless Network section for more details.
"Help" Menu
"Help" Menu Option provides general help and software release information about the device.

Help > About wiZit!
In the Menu Mode, pull down "Help" menu and select "About wiZit!" at any time to see the current version of the Sterizon wiZit Software installed on the device and other related information about the device.

Help > About Sterizon
In the Menu Mode, pull down "Help" menu and select "About Sterizon" at any time to see Sterizon Company Information. This option requires Wireless Network connectivity.
Help > Keys
In the Menu Mode, pull down "Help" menu and select "Keys" at any time for a quick help on keyboard keys.
Help > User Manual
In the Menu Mode, pull down "Help" menu and select "User Manual" at any time to access this manual using Sterizon wiZit device.
Safety Warnings
Sterizon wiZit includes a Lithium Ion battery. Please dispose of properly when replacing.
